For those new to the Philippines, here is some basic information about travelling to the IAG EXPO.

The venue for the IAG EXPO, Newport World Resorts, is located right alongside Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the main airport for the city. NWR is accessible by foot from NAIA Terminal 3 via a fully enclosed and air-conditioned walkway bridge, known as Runway Manila. Simply follow the signs in Terminal 3. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes to walk from NAIA to NWR via Runway Manila.

If you are arriving via Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 you will require ground transportation to get to NWR. Ground transportation is also available from Terminal 3 if you prefer to avoid the walk via Runway Manila.

Be sure to fill out your mandatory electronic arrival form before arrival, which can be accessed at eTravel.gov.ph.

Newport World Resorts is a modern, world-class integrated resort featuring five hotels – seven if you include the (very) close Belmont and Savoy Hotels just across the road from the IAG EXPO venue. NWR has over 50 food and beverage outlets, a spa and more than 100 retail stores.

We recommend that you arrive on Sunday 7 September – or at the very latest in the morning of Monday 8 September – in order to attend Manila After Dark (MAD) at Casa Buenas, NWR on Monday evening. MAD is a wonderful social networking event that doubles as the welcome drinks for the IAG EXPO and provides an early opportunity for guests to mingle with other attendees, including senior PAGCOR officials.

The IAG Exhibition kicks off at 10am on Tuesday 9 September with an Opening Ceremony, followed shortly after by the start of the IAG Academy Summit. Both the exhibition and the summit are two-day events.

The IAG Academy IR Awards will be held on the evening of Tuesday 9 September in the Manila Ballroom, from 6:30pm to 10pm. The exhibition, summit and awards are all located within the broader confines of Manila Marriott at NWR – only a short 1-minute walk from the hotel lobby itself – however the other hotel options at NWR are all within a 5-minute walk of the venue. Manila Marriott, which opened in 2009, was the first hotel to open at NWR.

IAG has arranged special rates for attendees of IAG EXPO at any of NWR’s five hotels: Hotel Okura, Hilton Manila, Manila Marriott, Sheraton Manila and Holiday Inn Express Manila. Access to the venue from the first four hotels is completely undercover. To book, visit our accommodation page.

For more budget-conscious travellers, the nearby Belmont and Savoy are also viable accommodation options. Although they are technically not part of NWR, they do form part of the NWR township and are in fact closer to the event venue than some NWR hotels. Access to the venue does require crossing a road which is not undercover.

When departing Manila after IAG EXPO, we recommend flying out no earlier than Thursday 11 September to ensure you are part of all of the week’s festivities. Please note that if you are taking ground transportation to NAIA you should allow up to 30 minutes to reach your terminal because although the distance is short, Manila traffic can be challenging!

The unit of currency in the Philippines is the peso (PHP), with an exchange rate of approximately US$1 = PHP 57.
